Be part of an advocacy movement that helps people with disabilities live, learn, work, and play in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Beyond donating and volunteering at events, you can also become a member of The Arc of Southeast Iowa.
Membership with our local organization also keeps you connected with The Arc of Iowa and The Arc of the United States. You’ll have access to information shared at all organizational levels.
Your commitment to The Arc helps our organization make progress at our local chapter. Members support The Arc because they believe in the history, mission, and advancements we’ve made over the last 60+ years.
How Membership Supports the Arc
Membership fees allow The Arc to provide programs like our after school care, day camps, respite programs, supporting employment of people with disabilities, and community events. It further helps us strengthen The Arc’s public policy advocacy, because membership numbers matter to legislators working toward our same mission.
Membership Roles & Responsibilities
When you become a member, you can provide input on position statements and issues that are relevant to our work. Your voice helps shape The Arc’s work on behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
An example of this advocacy work at a state level is fundraising for vending machines as employment opportunities and supporting a special project with the Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement, which has a history of disability services.
